You have to be clean and sober for a minimum of 90 days to be voted in as a resident member of Cherokee Recovery Village. To get sober you have to make a serious decision to quit drinking and drugging followed by a discipline to learn how to stay that way. Our mission @ Cherokee Recovery Village is to help those “unfortunates” who are afflicted with Selfishness, Hypocrisy, Insincerity, Treachery or SHIT for short due to a FEAR based victim stance survival mode where mind/mood altering has turned into an addiction and their “survival” isn’t manageable. We offer opportunities to learn how to become your own SHITcaller to move out of FEAR based survival into living a life through personal responsibility and a LOVE based reality. Our community is a self run democracy where we practice living with a LOVE based reality through compassion. In order to become a resident member of Cherokee Recovery Village you must have been clean and sober for at least the last 90 days, be able to bring something (work skills, donations, fund raising…)to the Village table to help out, create some form of income and save 75%, be willing to help eliminate your SHIT by being a SHITcaller and willing to help build your own pallet cabin with materials and tools provided. We aren’t a hospital, treatment center, rehabilitation center or emergency housing so we can’t help you get clean and sober, we help you stay clean and sober. Also we are not an entitlement program for folks looking for a free ride.
